altAndrew VanZee serves as the Statewide Health IT Director for Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA).  VanZee is responsible for managing the allocation of the $10.3 million ARRA HIT funding the state received in March 2010. VanZee works closely with Indiana's state designated entity, the Indiana Health Information Technology, Inc. (IHIT) and its Board of Directors to determine the best use for the HIT funding. He is responsible for working with local, state, federal and private partners to build collaboration with Indiana's other ARRA health information exchange (HIE) funding recipients such as the Regional Extension Centers and the  Beacon Community grant awarded to the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE). VanZee ensures that FSSA's Medicaid HIT efforts are properly coordinated and integrated with all statewide HIE / HIT initiatives.

Prior to joining FSSA, VanZee spent his entire professional career in hospital settings in a variety of roles and responsibilities. VanZee has over 10 years of experience most recently serving as Vice President of Provider Networks and Operations at Logansport Memorial Hospital (LMH) for seven years. During his tenure, LMH realized significant revenue growth, cost reductions and operational efficiencies within the outpatient departments.

Board certified in healthcare management, VanZee is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. His affiliations include serving on the Board of Trustees for five community organizations, holding several advisory roles and mentoring youth through sports. VanZee received a bachelor's degree in biology from Knox College, a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of South Carolina, and a master's degree in information systems from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

alt Diane Walton serves as the Grant Coordinator for IHIT.She is responsible for supporting existing grant activities including audits; monitoring project status through regular report generation; maintaining budget and verifying financial reporting; working with the Office of National Coordinator and the Office of Grant Management to provide quarterly updates; maintaining corporate records; preparing minutes of Board of Directors’ meetings and ensuring the necessary policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.

Prior to joining the IHIT team, Walton spent her professional career as a paralegal in the legal departments of several area corporations, focusing on compliance, regulatory affairs and grant management.Prior to her corporate legal experience, Walton was a litigation paralegal for 11 years at a large Indianapolis law firm and 2 years as the administrative assistant to the Chief of Staff for Indiana Governor Evan Bayh.She received her Paralegal Studies Certificate from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Brad Richards serves as the Health Information Technology Manager for IHIT.He is responsible for providing project management and technical oversight of HIO interoperability projects.Richards works closely with the various project technical committees comprised of representatives of the five independent, private-sector, regionally-based HIOs, providing structure and oversight of the committees to monitor progress of the deliverables.

Richards brings to IHIT over twenty-five years of Information Technology functional and technical experience, including project management using various methodologies, implementation experience in a broad base of environments and business analysis.He had served as the Health Information Technology Manager at Regenstrief Institute.Richards’ extensive experience includes development and implementation of health care systems for the Veterans Administration and Wishard Health Services.He has recently been a consultant for the Beacon Communities Program grant for Indiana Health Information Exchange and a Systems Architect for the Kentucky Health Information Exchange.

Richards studied Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and received a bachelor’s of science degree from the School of Business, Quantitative Business Analysis from Indiana University. He is currently enrolled in the Masters in Science program in Health Informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
