About IHIT- Goals of Indiana Health Information Technology

Indiana Health Information Technology, Inc. (IHIT) is the state-designated entity that is partnering with various stakeholders to expand health information exchange across the State of Indiana according to nationally recognized standards. IHIT’s goal is to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care by advancing Indiana’s position as a leader in sustainable, secure, standards-based health information exchange. Through grant funding from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program (SHIE-CAP), IHIT will achieve the following critical outcomes that ultimately advance the quality of Indiana’s health care delivery system: |

Indiana’s HIE Program is focused upon advancing statewide availability and adoption of electronic exchange services which include:
Program success will be measured by the availability and adoption of HIE services statewide by the provider community. As availability and adoption of these critical services increase, the State of Indiana expects to see significant health care cost savings and improved health outcomes for people in the State of Indiana. |
